Phase One is our way of describing the work necessary to place a statue honoring the Haydens in a prominent place in Lexington’s North End. This has been accomplished and the statue was unveiled on June 19,2025!

Phase Two is our way of describing the work necessary to build a small park or plaza around the statue at the corner of North Limestone and East Fourth Street in Lexington. Work began on September 2, 2026 and we expect the park will be completed in late October or early November. Watch for our Grand Opening!

Phase Three is our way of describing the work we have begun to form an entity to educate the community. We will tell the story of Lexington’s role in the Underground Railroad and the Kentucky people, like the Haydens, who participated in that effort. This required our becoming a 501-c-3 entity under the rules of the Internal Revenue Service. We have accomplished this work and received our entity approval letter from the IRS in June, 2026.
