Located at 350 N. Limestone Street, this park honors Lewis and Harriet Hayden—once enslaved in Lexington, later powerful abolitionists in Boston who operated an Underground Railroad safe house sheltering over 100 freedom seekers. The Towards Freedom Park will be a place for learning, reflection, and community connection. Your support will fund ongoing educational programs and community events that keep this important history alive.
Each engraved brick offers a lasting tribute—whether to honor loved ones, recognize families or organizations, or celebrate the spirit of freedom. These bricks will become part of the park’s pathways and gathering spaces, serving as permanent symbols of remembrance and community pride.
